Introducing the 2017 Méthode Traditionelle

The long-awaited moment has arrived as Brangayne of Orange proudly presents its debut sparkling wine, the 2017 Méthode Traditionelle! Now available online and at the cellar door.
A labour of love spanning nearly three decades – the 2017 Méthode Traditionelle – a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier sourced from the Brangayne vineyard. Aged gracefully on lees for 60 months with zero dosage. 

The inspiration for this creation traces back to the 1990s when Donal and Pamela Hoskins embarked on a transformative journey to Champagne, In France. Pamela recently reflected on their time in Épernay,

“We stayed at the vineyard of the Tarlant’s. On a picnic one day, we found wild strawberries to eat and drank Tarlant’s Champagne.  It was amongst all this beauty and magic that our decision was made.

‘We too could do this!’  

This experience seeded the belief that their Pinnacle Road orchard held the ideal terroir for nurturing fruit destined for Sparkling wine excellence. They ensured the vineyard’s planting included Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a carefully chosen component, Pinot Meunier.

Pamela is very pleased her patience has been rewarded: 

“Nearly 30 years have passed until Brangayne’s “bubbles” appeared, other wines having their time in the sun.  

However, we never lost sight of the vision we had at Épernay, to have our own Sparkling. So Brangayne of Orange has its 2017 Méthode Traditionelle – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier!  

It’s her time in the sun and she is delicious!”
